THE POWER OF IMAGINATION

There is a great power associated with our imaginations.

"Wil, you're running out of your mind" a neighbour said, "you ought to know better than your brother but it seems you are the older fool here", she added. 

Another neighbour whispered "I heard they have pictures of birds hanging on the walls of their room."

"maybe the have plans to fly like a bird." another one scoffed. 

 I am sure these were the same words this brothers heard day in and out. Nobody would have believed Leonard Da Vinci in the 1500s when he made sketches of birds hoping one day man would invent a flying machine. So who would have believed the Wright brothers. The Wright brothers must have faced serious persecutions especially that of mockery and rejection by people when they set to invent an airplane. Maybe a lot of companies have turned them down when they needed help, thinking their dream is absurd and impossible.

December 8, 1903, Samuel Langley finally gave up his experiments because he no longer had money and no one was ready to sponsor his project. So am sure Orville and Wilbur Wright's case were no different. But 9 days later, the first successful flight by an airplane took place. This same event has changed the entire course of civilization over time. All thanks to the Wright brothers who did not give up on their dreams. 

So many times especially when we were little, we thought of a lot of things. Many of which we were told are impossible.  The dreams we had were so big but people assured is it will never become a reality. So we just go back to bed with those dreams and with our mouths shut we quit dreaming. Moments ago we were excited and ready to give it a try. We were ready to punch defeat in the face and say no to failure. But one way or the other we stopped dreaming because everyone claim they are impossible.  They've discouraged us from going to places we would have loved to.

Our imagination is an image nation where we get to choose the image of what we want, how we want it and exactly when we want it. Imagination is very powerful but people just shut our mouth because these dreams were too real to be true. Dreams that were so expensive they couldn't afford it. So they talk us out of market and we danced to their beat and hide all our dreams. 

Who would have believed airplane could fly before the 1800s or who would have thought man would one day go into space with an invention of its own. 

Life is all about trying. Never assume that what people say about you is right even if everyone is saying the same thing. Learn to use your imagination wisely because it is the only country where you can get to be a king. Live the life you dream of and command the type of life you want. 

So you better believe in yourself and start living out your dreams. The power of imagination is real.
