7 important life lessons from the life of the termites.

If man can carefully observe what is around him, man would realize that there is much to learn from nature. A good example of such would be the life of the termites. There are so many life lessons that can be learnt from the termites. As humans we must never underestimate how much we can gain from these tiny insects. Below are some of the important lessons from the life of a termite.

  1. The power of association: very tiny but yet they form a very strong army because of the unity that exist among them. Termites are always seen in a large number. They do not walk alone or separate themselves. This level of cooperation that exist among the termites is an important lesson which man must master if he ever wants to make more out of life. He must learn to work together with others as a team. Complementing one another instead of competing. Man should also learn from the termites that divided we fall, United we shall always stand!
  2. Coordination: a termite kingdom is one with a high level of coordination. Things are done in orderliness, there are protocols and rules that are always being followed in the termites' kingdom. Man  must therefore adopt this lifestyle and learn to work as a coordinated team without disunity.
  3. Diligence: I am yet to see a man as diligent as a termite. They are such a busy group of insect with an enthusiasm to work. The termites are never found in an idle mood no matter what the situation may be. Man can learn a good life lesson from the diligence of termites. Man must become hardworking if he ever wants to achieve more in life.
  4. Division of labour: in a termite's kingdom there are soldiers, workers, kings and queens. They are all working differently under the same system but they have a common goal which is to keep productivity at the highest possible level. Man must learn to divide his labour as much as he can so that he can reduce stress and get more done within a short time.
  5. Persistence: the best time to see the persevering attitude of a termite will be immediately after a rain. The termites gets to work immediately not minding the fact that it can rain again. They rebuild the ruins at all cost making sure they have a nice place to stay. Man must learn from the termites that at all cost, he must do whatever it takes to build his home. That at all cost, he must be willing to work a little harder to achieve his goals.
  6. Good governance : termites are known to be loyalist who are always in subjection to their leaders. But they also know just the exact time to put an end to a weak regime. They are not biased in their politics. Whenever they observe this, the strongest and most qualified is put into power by the termites immediately.
  7. Visionary : termites see beyond the present. They are always willing to start a small colony but they will never give up building their home because they know that one day it will be more than a small colony. It will become a mighty kingdom. Man must learn to see beyond the present. Must must learn a lesson from the life of termites and do as much as they can to develop themselves and build a bigger place than they already have.

An insect is not wiser than man. What makes a man wise is his ability to learn from things around him - including these insects!
