THE FEARLESS OUTCASTS WHO SAVED THE TOWN

There was once a time when things were worse than whatsoever we may be experiencing today.
A time when humans had to feed on their children starting with the youngest until nothing was left.

Recession was at its peak, things were so expensive back then. Not leaving out the fact that insurgency was everywhere in the country. Wicked people just like the now Boko Haram.

Life was so difficult and people can not even go to work. There was no money to even afford for their needs. The farmers are scared to go to farm in order not to be killed by the heartless soldiers.

In this same period of confusion were some four friends who had a deadly skin disease. The skin disease was feared by everyone just as Ebola virus is in our own time. The hospitals were closed and a the clinics have been shut down so no one was willing to associate with them for whatsoever reason.
They became outcasts and were send out of the community. They suffered and hungered for days. There was no food for them and they cried and cried and cried until tears refuse to flow from their eyes.
Death shut it's face and won't come near them. They hope they will die very soon but it seems that will never happen.

One of them said :
"I am really scared and I've really lost all my pride.
I feel better-off staying all by myself
Like a snail I easily go back to hide
Who knows if anyone will be pissed off by what I said
Like a fragile egg I will rather be in my shell "

But one of them decided he won't be a coward. He said:
"death has refused to take us away
but today I will rather give death a visit.
If my life is spared then so be it.
If not I will know I died trying today ."

So they decided to march to the enemy's camp. The worst thing that can happen is death, but what is worse will be dying on this spot without any attempt to live, they thought within themselves.
On getting to the camp of the wicked soldiers, they noticed a graveyard serenity which would not have been common to such a place. "What could be happening?" they said one to another.

The enemies have fled already just some hours before the time for reasons known only to them. They could not believe their eyes as it behold that moment of reality. There was enough food and drinks as well. Golds and other valuable goods including enough money.

Then one of them opened up, "what if we never left the place we were dying gradually? What if we never took the step? "
This is a story most of us are familiar with. It's a Bible story retold from the book of 2Kings 7: 3 - 9.

So many times we act like a snail refusing to leave our comfort zone. We are scared of what people might say. We are scared we are not good enough. We are scared that no one wants us. We are scared that we don't have what it takes. We are scared it's not our type that they want. We are really scared about a lot of things unknown.
Most times all we need to do is to let go of our fears and reach out for our dreams. Just like these people who were rejected and left to die. If only we can take a step and another and again another, then we'll realize that the only limit we have is the one we place know ourselves.
You can make it if only you believe in yourself.
